HAGERSTOWN, MD – The media are invited to the unveiling of the Hagerstown-Washington County CVB’s Official Hagerstown Suns 2015 Bobblehead. Please NOTE: The event will take place on Monday, August 17, 2:00 PM at the Visitor Welcome Center located at 6 North Potomac Street in Hagerstown. Suns players will be on hand to give autographs of the bobblehead following the unveiling.
The CVB partners annually with the Hagerstown Suns in this promotion, and it is traditionally of a figure who is well known, either historically, or living, and has impacted Washington County in a significant way.
The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau will present the bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans arriving at the Hagerstown Suns’ 7:05 p.m. game against the Lexington Legends on Saturday, August 22nd. Gates will open at Municipal Stadium at 6:05 p.m., and the Suns advise fans to arrive early, as the supply of bobbleheads is not expected to last long. "We are very proud to be the financial sponsor of this bobblehead giveaway," Bureau President Dan Spedden said. "Our bobbleheads are symbols of some of the great leaders of Washington County, both past and present. It is terrific that our history and heritage are celebrated in this way - for the 10th time!" “This project is normally several months in the making,” according to Hagerstown Suns General Manager, Bob Bruchey. “We’ve been working very hard with the CVB to make this bobblehead ready for the August 22nd home game.”
