The fine brick Federal style townhouse at 135 West Washington Street in Hagerstown is the headquarters of the Washington County Historical Society. The house was built in 1825 for William Price, a prominent young attorney in Hagerstown, on the property formerly owned by the Bell family of potters. The townhouse features an original hanging staircase in the entrance hall, which rises in a graceful curve to the third floor. The first floor is decorated in the Federal style, and the second floor contains rotating exhibits displaying some of the WCHS's priceless artifacts. A wonderful case clock collection may also be found within the walls of the Miller House, showcasing clocks both small and large from local 18th and 19th century clockmakers.
